Dimpled drainage matting has 1,000 uses and few other materials bring together the qualities of the product. Light and inexpensive (only 45¢ a square foot) it is flexible, waterproof, and the high crush resistance makes it perfect for creating an air gap or water runway between materials.
Originally dimpled drainage matting was designed to be a protective moisture barrier between commercial building foundations and the back-fill, it has a long-term tolerance with earth contact and water.
It’s high density polyethylene (HDPE) composition provides good resistance to water pressure. Dimpled drainage matting is composed of recycled materials and is considered a GREEN product. Meets/exceeds ICC-AC114: Acceptance Criteria for Rigid, Polyethylene, Below-grade, Damp proofing and Wall Waterproofing Material.
Versatility: Installed dimples up, it is used on large potting tables to provide drainage under pots, as they mature for market. Used dimples down, under decorative planters on cement patios to reducing staining from the planter. Installed dimples down, it is used as sub floor in crawl space encapsulation between the gravel floor and the vapor barrier. Installed dimples out, it is fastened to the exterior of cement foundation walls before back-fill, as part of a damp proofing system. Installed dimples in, and then covered on the dimple side with 10 Mil barrier to create a dead air space between layers of building encapsulation. Installed dimples up over a cement slap as part of a dry sub-floor system. We have even had customers tell us they are using the dimpled mat in composting applications to manage the excess water and liquids. The uses are truly limited only by the imagination of the DIY’er. Once you finish your installation, we always enjoy seeing the creative ways you have installed the drainage mat in your project.
